「どこかで生まれて、どこかで暮らす。」プロジェクト (2012 – )
土地に慣れないという経験から、環境や言葉 (方言) においての身体の変化や状態、人の在り方に興味を持った木村は、2012 年、活動方法を模索し東京から神戸に 8 ヶ月移住し参加していた国内ダンス留学@神戸 1 期 (振付家コース) 時に作品「どこかで生まれて、どこかで暮らす。」を創作。出身地が異なる5名のダンサーと1名の美術家 (2017年からダンサー2名, 2018年から美術家1名加入) によって構成されており、言葉 (方言) を作品を構成するひとつのツールとして使用し、「移動」と「居住」によって、土地や人と交わりながら、ダンサーの身体、振付家の考察、そして作品がどのように変化していくのかを試行し続けている。同じ日本という国に生まれても、育つ場所や暮らす場所で話す言葉 (方言) 、身体 (満員電車 / 農業など) も違う。そんな差異や、暮らす場所が変化することによって変わっていくこと、変われないことを見つめながら、8年間で、神戸、青森、横浜、東京、城崎、香港、豊橋、別府、上田と移動し、プロジェクトを継続中。2017年には東アジア・ダンスプラットフォーム 1st HOT POT プログラムに招聘され香港公演を行い、人種や習慣、母国語が違う観客への作品提示についても考察を続けている。今後も新たな土地を求めて移動し、同時代に生きる様々な人の暮らしと共に、生きて変化し続けていく作品、プロジェクト。ダンスという概念を問い、考え、再発見していくこと、振付家・ ダンサーという職業の新しい立ち位置を探していくこともこのプロジェクトの大切な目的である。プロジェクトの活動を通して、様々な土地で暮らす様々な職業の方に、ダンスと向き合って生きている者が同時代に存在する事実を知ってもらうことは、ダンスを後世に残していくことに繋がると考えている。

“born somewhere, live somewhere.” Project (2012 – )
When I moved From my hometown of Aomori to Tokyo, I had the experience of not getting used to the land. Based on that experience, I was interested in changes and conditions of the body in the environment and words (dialects), and the way people should be, and in 2012 created “born somewhere, live somewhere.” This work consists of 6 dancers and 1 artist from different origins. This uses words (dialects) as one of the tools that make up the work, and tries to see how the body of the dancer, the choreographer’s thoughts, and the work change depending on “move” and “residence”. Even if born in the same country as Japan, the words (dialects) spoken and the body (crowded train/agriculture, etc.) used in the places where they grow up and live are different. While keeping an eye on such differences, and the fact that they change and not change due to changes in the places where they live, in eight years we moved to Kobe, Aomori, Yokohama, Tokyo, Kinosaki, Hong Kong, Toyohashi, and Beppu to continue the project. In 2017, this work was invited to the East Asian Dance Platform 1st HOT POT program and performed in Hong Kong. We continues to consider the presentation of works to audiences with different races, customs, and native languages. It is a work and project that move in search of new land and continue to live and change with the lives of various people living in the same era. And important purpose of this project is to ask and think about the concept of dance, to rediscover it, and to find new positions in the profession of choreographers and dancers. We are always looking for “places”, “time” and “encounters” to grow projects and works. Through the activities of the project, letting people of various occupations living in various lands know about the fact that people living facing dance while living in the same era. I hope this will lead to the future generation of dance.
